Privacy policy
This page explains what SubwooferGenius collects, who else receives data when you visit, and how to control it. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate.

The short version
We do not ask you to create an account, and we never sell your data. We do use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful, and Google AdSense to show ads that help fund the site. Both set cookies and both are operated by Google, not by us. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you are asked for consent before any advertising or analytics cookies are used, and you can change your answer at any time.
Analytics
We use two analytics tools to see how the site is doing. Neither tells us who you are.
- Google Analytics 4 — measures page views, how visitors move through the site, and which content is worth improving. It sets cookies (typically named
_gaand_ga_<id>) and processes technical data such as your approximate location derived from your IP address, device type, browser, and referring site. Google acts as our data processor for this. - Ahrefs Web Analytics — a privacy-focused, cookieless tool that reports aggregate traffic only. It does not set cookies or build a profile of you.
Advertising
We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies or read existing ones to serve and measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and detect fraud. Where you have consented, these ads may be personalised using your browsing activity across other sites. Where you have not consented, or where consent is not required and you have opted out, Google serves non-personalised ads instead — these still use cookies for frequency capping and fraud prevention, but not to profile you.
You can review and change how Google personalises ads for you at My Ad Center, and read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Affiliate links
Some links to retailers are affiliate links, including as an Amazon Associate, where we earn from qualifying purchases. These links go through our own /go/ address before forwarding you to the retailer. That redirect sets no cookies and records nothing about you — it exists so every outbound link is managed in one place.
Once you arrive at a retailer, that company's own privacy policy and cookies apply, and they will typically set a cookie to attribute any purchase. We never see who you are or what you buy — only aggregate commission reports. Full details are on our affiliate disclosure page.
Consent in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you are shown a consent message before advertising and analytics cookies are set, in line with Google's EU user consent policy. You can accept, reject, or choose which purposes you allow. Rejecting does not restrict access to any content on this site — you will simply see non-personalised ads.
To change your choice later, use the privacy or consent option in the ad settings on any page, or clear this site's cookies in your browser to be asked again.
Your choices
- Block or delete cookies for this site in your browser settings. The site works normally without them.
- Opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
- Turn off ad personalisation in My Ad Center.
- If you are in a region with data protection rights such as the UK or EU, you can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. In practice we hold nothing that identifies you unless you have emailed us.
Email and contact
If you email us, we use your address only to reply, and we do not add it to any mailing list. You can reach us through the contact page. This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
If we add or remove a tool that handles visitor data, we update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here rather than announced individually.
